Joint Tenancy

Joint Tenancy – Ownership of real estate between two or more parties who have been named in one conveyance as joint tenants. Upon the death of one of the owners, his share goes to the other owners by the “right of survivorship”. The removal of one or more joint tenants is the legal process of severance.
